Dear members and subscribers,
Thanks for your support this year, we are thrilled to have been able to support you. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Published the Victorian Live Music 10 Point Plan
  • 23 venues received $240,100 in grants as part of the Good Music Neighbours and Acoustic Assessment programs
  • 37 managers, agents, artists, industry and media taken through regional Victoria on the Victorian Music Crawl
  • 20 promoters and band bookers participated in the Live Music Professionals program
  • Membership numbers surpassed 1500 for the first time
  • Contributed to Visit Victoria making live music a brand pillarand pre-eminent global professor in music strategy declaring Melbourne the "Live Music Capital of the World’’
  • Helped bring the internationally renowned Music Cities Convention to the Southern Hemisphere for the first time
  • Age Music Victoria Awards Saw
    - 23 awards handed out 
    - 72,000 public votes polled
    - One Hall of Fame Induction and one Special Achievement Award handed out

Speaking of highlights, it was amazing to once again celebrate the best music of the year with you at The Age Music Victoria Awards at 170 Russell last month. Congrats again to all the winners and nominees, and thanks to all the performers. You can check out Semiconductor Media's highlights reel here

I was thrilled to be able to help launch City of Geelong's Live Music Action Plan (LiveMAP) and the new Chrissie Amphlett mural in Little Mallop Street.
The LiveMAP was developed by members of the Geelong and Victorian live music sector, including Music Victoria’s Nick Cooper, to help grow a more active, creative and sustainable live music culture in Central Geelong.

Planning has begun for 2018, and we look forward to securing more discounts for members which will be unveiled during our annual membership drive between 19-28 March 2018. We will also be revealing our monthly professional development program in January, which will be free for members.
We will then be helping deliver the Music Cities Convention – Melbourne on 19-20 April 2018. The first speakers have just been announced, and there’s a discount for Music Victoria members, check out the details here
So thanks again from the team at Music Victoria. Our office will be closed from December 22 2018, and reopen on 8 January 2018, we look forward to working with you all in 2018.
