JACKIE ANTAS

About Me
I am a PR and communications professional with 25 years experience in the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific specialising in entertainment, technology, and consumer brands. I am currently the Vice President, Communications for Live Nation Asia Pacific responsible for corporate communications, and corporate affairs across the region for Live Nation and its portfolio of companies, including Ticketmaster, Moshtix, Secret Sounds and venues such as the Palais Theatre and Festival Hall in Victoria. Next year marks 15 years with Live Nation. I have a keen interest in Social Impact/ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategies and my love for music and my career in the industry started in community radio in the mid-90s.
Motivation
By joining the Music Victoria board, I am committed to championing, advocating, and making a positive difference for all facets of Victoria's music community. As a proud Victorian and passionate music fan, I will use my extensive skills and global experience working in the industry to make a lasting impact by elevating the social, economic, and cultural potential of our State's music scene.
WHAT WOULD I BRING?
Ultimately, the most important thing I can bring to the board of Music Victoria is my passion for music and my unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the music community in Victoria. With my relevant skillset, my experience leading industry campaigns (such as Vax The Nation and Music for the Voice), expertise in marketing, communications, working with government and other key stakeholders, and a strong network of contacts, I believe I would be a valuable asset to the board and you would make a real difference and lasting impact in the lives of musicians and the wider music community in Victoria.

ROD DAVIES

About Me
I have worked in various sectors of the music industries, spanning commercial, independent, grassroots, and top tier. For 25+ years I toured and recorded as a backing singer with John Farnham, Tina Arena, Olivia Newton-John, and Mark Seymour, and worked extensively in television. I am a published songwriter and an independent artist, a theatre maker and session singer. Since 2016 I have designed and managed the Popular Music department at Monash University. My roles have required a high degree of strategic planning, effective and consistent leadership, reflective management, communication, and collaboration. My main area of research is performers's rights.
Motivation
I am a university music academic with 8+ years of experience leading strategy and management teams and developing young creative artists. Music Victoria plays an important role in this development. My desire is to see a music industry where all participants may achieve social, cultural, and economic equity and sustainability.
WHAT WOULD I BRING?
As a performer, educator, and industry advocate, I also bring my experience in governance, planning, leadership, managing budgets, recruitment, and reporting. I know how governance systems work and why they sometimes don’t work, and I am comfortable in articulating my opinions in an informed, professional, and collaborative way. My training as a doctoral researcher equips me with the capacity to understand the intersectional cultural, social, economic and political challenges facing current and future music industry workers, and to strategically focus on ways to problem solve, plan and design policies and programs that support musicians of all ages, (dis)abilities and experience.

JARROD DOBSON

About Me
I'm not a muso, I'm a fan. It's a passion nurtured by the Victorian live music scene ever since, as a schoolkid, I chased Paul Kelly and the Painters and Dockers across the Melbourne train system as they rocked the rails. And still today nothing makes me happier than discovering a new talent or seeing an old favourite live. My day job as National Director of Advocacy and Public Policy at the Y Australia, pays for gig attendance, and gives me a very handy set of skills for making a case to government to support our scene.
Motivation
Music is my life passion. I'm a massive live music fan and the father of a professional muso. I want to make a difference for the future of the scene by bringing my passion and the know how of twenty years working in government to the Board of Music Victoria.
WHAT WOULD I BRING?
My day job in public policy and government relations is all about making a case to government. I’m a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and member of a couple of different work-related boards so I can also bring board experience to Music Victoria. An effective Board has really good industry experience, but if it wants to make the best case to government to invest in local music and help the scene thrive, then you need someone on your side who knows how government ticks. That's me. I hope you'll give me your support.

FIONA DUNCAN

About Me
With many years of diverse experience in artist management, event coordination, tour management, publicity and industry advisory roles, Fiona brings extensive expertise within the contemporary music landscape. Her current career as artist manager of Spiderbait alongside roles in music development and events for the City of Greater Geelong has equipped Fiona with proven skills in strategic management, advocacy, policy development and implementation along with an understanding of the influence and interplay of policies and strategies within the industry. Fiona is a vocal advocate for regional representation and empowerment of women and gender-diverse people within our industry.
Motivation
My career in the music industry is a lifelong passion. I would like to continue on the MV Board to champion initiatives that foster equal opportunities. We need to grow membership and increase our ability at playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our music industry.
WHAT WOULD I BRING?
I bring a wide range of skills including stakeholder engagement, consultation, management, governance, policy and a deep understanding of the musician experience. Government knowledge from local to state and federal and the intersection and impact of different policies and strategies on the industry. Experience working regionally, nationally and internationally in Music. Living and working regionally and understanding the experience for regional musicians and industry which needs a stronger advocacy voice. Previous board experience on the Music Vic Board and Girls Rock! Boards.

ETHAN HOLBEN

About Me
A music industry veteran with 25 years of experience spanning producing, performing, retail, labels, distribution, management, marketing, media, creative directing, and programming, with my most visible role serving as a VP at Yadastar - the company that created and executed the massive music education platform Red Bull Music Academy. My current effort aims higher - I launched Aslice, a revolutionary new royalty service and income stream for electronic musicians celebrated by heroes like Richie Hawtin and Nastia and aspiring artists. The common thread for these roles is my artist-first approach, championing diversity and inclusivity and a dedication to excellence in execution.
Motivation
Music Victoria has an amazing opportunity to facilitate collaboration between the Victorian music community and industry with the government to create a thriving, equitable, and forward-thinking music ecosystem that can inspire other Australian communities and the world. I think my extensive global experience can contribute to this outcome.
WHAT WOULD I BRING?
A global perspective and a fresh set of eyes. My early career was centered in the high-pressure, diamond-producing environment of NYC. Later, I had the privilege to work on large-scale projects in countries worldwide; from Santiago, Chile, to Berlin, Germany, to Montreal, Canada, and everywhere in between. This experience helped me shed typical American arrogance and instead be inspired by different communities and ways of working. As a relatively recent transplant to Melbourne, I have the unique position of having a global perspective based on experience and a fresh-eyed take and appreciation for Victoria's vibrant music scene.
