International Women's Day Live Music Events across Victoria

International Women's Day is rolling around again on 8 March, and we have compiled a selection of great events you can go to to celebrate the force that is Women in Music!

3CR Community Radio
Celebrate International Women's Day this year with 3CR! On Friday 8 March we’ll bring you 24 hours of non-stop radio by, for and about women. Join our fabulous women and gender queer broadcasters as we talk with talented Melbourne activists, songwriters, storytellers and musicians making a difference. Between 5.30 and 6.30pm we’ll broadcast live from the IWD rally at the State Library in the city.

Some Velvet Morning - Clifton Hill

To celebrate women in music we have a killer evening of screen and sound. Beginning with an intimate showing of Her Sound Her Story, then being followed by music from Al Parkinson, Bonnie Love and more. We'll end the night with pop and dance music from power women from the last few decades.

3RRR Performance Space, Brunswick East

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, women and GNC broadcasters plus their guests will be taking over the Triple R airwaves on Friday 8 March! We’re excited to dedicate the full day to showcasing the awesome talent and voices of women and gender diverse people in our local community.

The day will conclude with a three hour live to air extravaganza from the Triple R Performance Space during Dropout Boogie on RRRwith Zara Kravchenko from 7-10pm

All door proceeds from the night will be donated to The Centre for Non-Violence in Bendigo.

On Friday March 8th the team behind Mr. McClelland's Finishing School is putting on a very special Heart of Glass to celebrate International Women's Day! Lead by Finishing School co-founder Leah Collins, Heart of Glass is a showcase for some of Melbourne’s best female DJs spinning indie, pop, rock, RnB and so much more.
Our DJs for the night are: Leah Collins, Bec Mitchell & Cassie McDonald.
Most importantly, $5 from every ticket sold goes to Share the Dignity's end period poverty campaign.
