We hope you all loved our membership drive video as much as we did – even with our dubious acting debuts! And if you haven’t seen the new member discount list then be sure to acquaint yourself with all of the amazing new savings.

Music Victoria is excited to announce the addition of two new chapters to the Best Practice Guidelines for Live Music Venues. The two new chapters deal with making your venue accessible and protecting the environment, written by Arts Access and Green Music Australia.
This follows on from three new chapters and various updates in March 2016, including dealing with sexual harassment, hearing protection, hosting all ages gigs, planning law reform and copyright compliance.
The guidelines were developed in 2012 by representatives of the music industry and state government through the Live Music Roundtable to assist Victoria’s live music venues to lead the way. It is important that it is an evolving document, with regular updates reflecting changes in the live landscape.
Topics already covered by the guidelines include managing sound to maintaining a positive relationship with neighbours, providing a safe environment for patrons, staff and musicians to enjoy the live music experience, and building long term working relationships with musicians.Read More
