What an amazing couple of weeks for Victoria and our music community!
Melbourne Music Week saw music everywhere throughout our capital, from the steps of Parliament House and the State Library of Victoria, to the MCG, as well as all the usual haunts. The public, MMW punters and industry were treated to some of our best live music each day outside the State Library, where we shook it to artists like Nai Palm, Ella Thompson, REMI and The Meanies. So very much to see, and so very much of it free…
We also witnessed an announcement by the federal government committing $1.16M to secure Sounds Australia for another four years. This is a big win for Australian music, in particular artists looking to get their music beyond our shores and into the world market.
