CEO Report - May 2017

26 May 2017

Dear members and subscribers,

It's been a big week for live music. We've launched the second year of the State Government's Good Music Neighbours program (matched funding for live music venues) and released our Victorian Live Music Ten Point Plan

The City of Port Phillip Council has also been voting to rally all inner city councils to make a mass heritage submission to the State Government to protect culturally significant pubs, read more about this important heritage work here

It was also good to see Melbourne academic, Dr. Andrea Baker, adding some academic rigour to the debate about great music cities. Music Victoria loves it when music is front and centre of the state's agenda and consciousness, and we can't wait until next April when hundreds of leading global thinkers descend on Melbourne to continue the dialogue at the Music Cities Convention - Melbourne.

The Australian Music Industry Network's Love Live Music 60 Second Film Competition also announced it's winner at the St Kilda Town Hall last
night, check out more info on that below.

See you all at a gig soon, MV crew.
