CEO Report - July 2016

28 Jul 2016

Greetings members and subscribers,

While it seems like winter will never end, the announcements of music conferences and festivals means that warmer weather must be just around the corner.
Face the Music, contemporary music summit, has announced it is moving to the second week of Melbourne Music Week, on 17 and 18 November. Early bird tickets are on sale now and Music Victoria members will get a discount on the full rate tickets once the program is announced mid-August.

Brisbane's music conference BIGSOUND has also confirmed its last round of speakers and performers for the event on 7, 8, 9 September. Check out the HUGE list here, many of which hail from Victoria. Music Victoria members can still get special rate tickets available until 31 July - just enter your MV number at checkout to save $100.

We have been busy locking down the line up for The Age Music Victoria Awards. Held on 16 November at 170 Russell, we're working on quite the showcase. Keep an eye on our website for all of those details being announced next week.

The first round of applications for Good Music Neighbours has now closed and we received a great amount of submissions from venues. Details on the next round will be out soon but check the Music Victoria and Creative Victoria websites for updates.

As Kim Salmon sings ‘’Come on spring, do Your thing’’.

See you in the moshpit - Paddy, Nick and Chloe
