CEO Report - August 2016

25 Aug 2016
Greetings members and subscribers,

It’s that time of year when the Music Vic team undertakes the difficult, but enjoyable task of putting together the line-up for The Age Music Victoria Awards at 170 Russell on 16 November 2016.

This year, we have separated the industry-only awards ceremony from the gig, now known as The After Party.  Only 400 tickets are available to members of the general public to enjoy the best music the state has to offer.

The 2016 line-up is a great mix of acts including emerging pop, rock and roots acts Tash SultanaCamp CopePierce Brothers andAlex Lahey
a few established artists who just continue to rise - Paul DempseyGareth Liddiardglobal soul chart topper Kylie Auldist, Best Emerging Artist Remi, Guwurra who recent dominated the National Indigenous Music Awards, and Ballarat country artist Freya Josephine Hollick.
Capping the whole night off is the legendary 25-piece MelbourneSka Orchestra, with a 30 minute dance party set.

The judges are currently working through lists of awards nominations, artists can submit their releases for consideration here.

Anyone will be able to vote for their favourite Victorian music of the year from 7 October 2016. Keep an eye on the Music Victoria and The Age websites.

See you in the moshpit - Paddy, Chloe & Nick
